Privacy Policy

iMeetPlace LLC ("iMeetPlace", "we", "us") operates the iMeetPlace app and website. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. It is written to be read, not skimmed: if anything is unclear, write to contact-us@imeetplace.com.

1. What iMeetPlace does

iMeetPlace helps adults meet other people at real places nearby. Members see venues and people "in their orbit", plan a Meet at a venue, check in when the Meet starts, and rate the Meet afterwards. Venues can claim a listing to hold tables, post offers and see how many Meets they host.

2. What we collect

Account. Your first name, birthdate (to confirm you are 18 or older, never shown to others), phone number or email, and the sign-in provider you use (Apple, Google, phone or email). Business accounts also give a venue name, address and a listed phone or email.

Profile. Photos, a short bio, interests, languages, what you are looking for, and the venues you say you go to. Profile photos are checked automatically before they appear to other members and may be reviewed by a person; chat photos and venue photos are checked for unsafe content when our photo-safety service is enabled.

Location. With your permission, the app reads your position to show what is nearby. Before it leaves your phone it is rounded to roughly one mile. Other members never see your position; they see a rounded distance such as "2 mi". You can use travel mode to browse another city without sharing where you are.

Meets. Who you planned to meet, where and when, whether a table was held, check-in times, whether the Meet was verified, your afterward ratings and whether the other person showed up. This is what makes Show Rate and reliability work.

Messages and calls. Chats with members and venues, and what you ask the concierge. Concierge requests may be processed by an AI provider to understand the request; they are not used to train that provider's models. Video Hello calls run through our video provider, Daily; calls are not recorded or transcribed, and we keep only a call record (who, when, how long).

Support. What you write to Help & Support. Ask iMeetPlace is AI-assisted support, labelled as such: your questions, together with basic facts about your own account (plan, subscription state, verification state, upcoming Meets), may be processed by an AI provider to answer; they are not used to train that provider's models, and never include your chats with other members, your position, or payment details. Support conversations and tickets are kept for 12 months after they close, then deleted.

Payments. Purchases are not open yet. When they open, member plans (Plus and Pro) are bought through the Apple App Store or Google Play: we receive a receipt, never your card. Business plans, boosts and VIP placements are designed to be charged by card through our payment provider, Stripe: we would store the customer and invoice identifiers, not card numbers. If the business billing route changes, this policy is updated before purchases open.

Device and usage. The push token for the notifications you allow, device type and app version so the app works. Usage events and crash reports (Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics, provided by Google) are optional: they stay off until you allow them in Settings › Privacy choices, and you can turn them off there at any time. No advertising identifiers, no cross-app tracking.

Privacy choices. When you make a cookie or privacy choice, we keep a receipt of it: the choice by purpose, the inventory version, the time and the surface (website or app). In the app the receipt is tied to a random installation identifier, stored as a hash, so the choice can be recorded without naming you.

3. Why we use it

4. What other members see

Your first name, age (unless hidden with Plus), photos, bio, interests, verified status, rating, number of Meets, Show Rate and a rounded distance. Venues that hold a table for you see first names, initials, verification status, rating and Show Rate only. Nobody sees your phone number, email, birthdate, exact location or private messages.

5. Sharing

We share data only with providers that help run iMeetPlace under contract: Amazon Web Services (hosting, photo storage), Twilio (text messages), Google Firebase (push notifications; and, only if you allow it, usage and crash reports), Daily (Video Hello calls), Apple and Google (sign-in and, once purchases open, in-app purchases), Stripe (business payments, once they open), an AI provider (concierge and support requests), and map providers when you tap Directions. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it with advertisers. If you use Share My Meet, the card you send shows the venue, date, time and first names only.

6. Your choices

7. Retention

Active accounts are kept while you use iMeetPlace. Reliability events expire after 90 days; support conversations and tickets 12 months after they close; Video Hello call records and device-integrity records 180 days; sign-in tokens are deleted when you sign out and expire 90 days after sign-in. Deleted accounts are removed within 30 days except records we must keep by law. Receipts of your privacy choices are kept as evidence of the choice.

8. Children

iMeetPlace is for adults. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to create an account, and we remove accounts that turn out to belong to minors. Our Child Safety Standards describe how to report a concern and what we do.

9. Security

Data travels encrypted (TLS). Access to production systems is limited to the people who run the service. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach affecting you we will tell you.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to some processing. Write to contact-us@imeetplace.com and we will answer within 30 days. California residents: we do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising, and we do not use targeted advertising.

11. Changes

We will post changes here with their real last-updated and effective dates and, for material changes, tell you in the app. Continuing to use iMeetPlace is not consent to optional tracking: optional purposes stay off until you choose them, whatever this policy says about other processing.
